Dr. Salter has developed an exploratory approach
to teaching physical
chemistry laboratories in which students work from the data that they
collect
to develop fundamental theories of chemistry. His research interests
include
molecular orbital calculations, laser spectroscopy, and applications of
least
squares fitting to chemistry. His work is published in the
Journal of the
American Chemical Society and the Journal of Chemical Education.
